The sheet layout below depicts some of the work of my favourite architect, John Wardle. My interest in his architecture is based on the relevance to the Australian context and his constant use of natural and site responsive materials especially in his residential architecture. An obvious connection can also be made between my previous investigation of the Storey Bridge symobolgy and some of John Wardle's commercial designs. Pattern and Repitition are central to the aesthetic.
It also shows Falling water designed by Frank Lloyd Wright which in my opinion is the epitome of natural/organic/site responsive design which to thie day can be seen as modern and an architectural masterpiece. Initial inspiration of biomimetric design is also shown relating to the structure of termites nest and their method of keeping a constant temperature inside.
